    Painter, notably in tempera, and stained glass artist. Meteyard studied at the Birmingham School of Art under Edward Taylor and was one of the original members of the Birmingham Group of Painters and Craftsmen, which included Joseph Southall, Arthur Gaskin and Henry Payne. He married the artist, jeweller and illuminator Kate M Eadie. Meteyard exhibited at the RA, RBSA, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, and at the Paris Salon. Illustrated the poet Henry Longfellow’s The Golden Legend. Sometimes signed work with a monogram, but usually it remained unsigned. Lived in Birmingham.
